Living with a “misbehaving” immune system can feel like your body has turned against you. As a board-certified allergist, immunologist, lifestyle medicine physician, and certified life coach, I've spent over 14 years helping people with allergies, asthma, autoimmunity, and mast cell disorders reclaim their health. And as a fellow autoimmune patient (Sjogren's, dysautonomia, and a former food allergy mom!), I truly understand how frustrating it can be when your body feels more like a foe than a friend.
That's why I created the Immune Confident Approach –– a personalized, forward-thinking system that combines cutting-edge science with practical, sustainable strategies so you can regain control of your health and your life.
My Journey: From Itchy & Exhausted to Immune Confident
Several years ago, my own body seemed to have other ideas! I was exhausted, itchy, my liver wasn’t happy, and my whole system was inflamed. I was a new mom, struggling to focus at work and care for my baby. As a physician, I knew how to care for others, but I had no idea how to truly care for myself. That scary, frustrating time was a major turning point. I had to re-prioritize my own well-being – to reclaim my health, energy, and joy! And it was that experience that led me to create the Immune Confident Approach –– to help you feel empowered to do the same!
The Immune Confident Approach: 3 Steps to Reclaiming Your Health
While we might share some similar struggles, we’re all unique individuals. Even if we have the same underlying autoimmune condition (Sjogren's, lupus, hives, allergies –– you name it!), our bodies, our preferences, our values –– they're all different. That’s why a personalized approach is so essential.
The Immune Confident Approach is built upon three simple but powerful core values: curiosity, compassion, and connection. Here’s the breakdown:
- Understanding Your Immune Story: This involves a “deep dive” into your health history, lifestyle, and challenges. It’s not a quick glance at your medical chart –– it’s a true partnership. We’ll work together, like detectives, to uncover the root causes of your symptoms, combining the best of conventional and functional medicine.
We might explore:
- Environmental factors (toxins, exposures)
- Nutrition (food sensitivities, gut imbalances)
- Immune-based labs
And most importantly –– we’ll talk about your values. What does true wellness mean to you? What are your goals?
- Crafting Your Personal Wellness Roadmap: Once we understand your unique story, it’s time to map out your path forward. This personalized plan integrates lifestyle changes (nutrition, stress management, movement), targeted supplements (if needed), and medications (when necessary).
This roadmap isn’t static –– it evolves with you. Regular check-ins and open communication help us make adjustments, honoring the fact that your health journey is dynamic!
- Living with Immune Confidence: This is the ultimate goal –– to empower you to live vibrantly! As you progress, you'll experience:
- Symptom Relief: Less fatigue, fewer flares, improved overall well-being.
- Deeper Understanding: Knowledge about your immune system, its triggers, and how to support it.
- Feeling Empowered: You’re the driver of your health journey, not a passenger!
Reimagine Your Life: It's About More Than Just Symptoms
It's about letting go of limiting beliefs, prioritizing what truly matters, and living fully! I've been there, facing my own fears about my health. I’ve felt the frustration of navigating the healthcare system, feeling unheard and unseen. It's why I’m so passionate about helping you create the vibrant, fulfilling life you deserve –– with your immune system working for you, not against you.
